I hope you enjoy these. For anyone who doesnt know, this is a year long project for myself where I write a blog entry a day. The artwork is something I did last year. Before 1/3/23 I had never drawn one thing in my entire life and then one day I decided to teach myself to draw and drew like 350 pictures last year. It's not just for me but also for Swift Moves in hopes of getting our rankings up on search engines. Does it work? Who knows. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send it to you in a frame.
“2003, NYSP, this aint American Dream, this aint American Idol, I didn't sign up for those, I already took the title.” What are these lyrics you ask? This is the opening line a group of kids did in a skit I helped produce when I volunteered in the Summer of 2003 for the National Youth Sports Program or N.Y.S.P. at St. Petersburg College. The camp was for underprivileged youth and concentrated in sports. The last day there was a talent show and my group did like an 8 mile type battle and that was the opening line. When this ten year old kid said those lyrics in front of the entire camp I've never seen so many kids spontaneously jump up and yea;ll at once. It was amazing and till this day one of the best feelings I've had in my entire life. Me and all the kids in my group were shocked it went so well. I was so proud because this was my group, they all called me “Coach”. We wrote, planned and executed this skit so I was really happy that these kids could see how these steps could pay off. What shocks me now is that these kids are almost 30 years old!!!!! What!!!!!
I told this story to my wife the first night I met her and she later told me this was one of the main reasons she gave me a shot. It must have worked because we have been married 18 years now.
The Artwork-I'm pretty sure every child and most adults recognize this guy. They better not try to sue me for any type of copyright because I know I've paid close to a couple hundred thousand dollars to these guys over the last 40 years. I did the math one time to see how many times I've actually eaten at McDonalds and I won't say the number I came up with because it's kind of embarrassing but let's just say it's a lot. But back to the artwork. I think it looks good but maybe it's like a kids version of the original. About when I got to this point last year I really started getting into the colors and the matching of the colors. I loved the bright colors of this guy. Not just the colors but the actual matching up for the perfect color. I bet I looked at ten different reds and ten different yellows to find the perfect shade for this one. His eyes look great, his hands are on point and his smile creeps me out. I hope you enjoy!
Contest-This is an ongoing contest. It's a weird thing. On 6/27/24 we started with $10 then everyday I'm adding $1. The first person to call in or comment or message gets the money. Here's the kicker. You can either call in right now and get $10 (or whatever it happens to be this day) or wait till the next day when the money goes up. I think I have like 175 days left so the pot can get up to almost $200. It's free money, it's not a scam, it's in the marketing budget. No employees or employee families are eligible. I hope you win!
The total on 6/30/24 is $13.
