If you read these please start from the first day.
Another hectic mooring, this is great news! It seems the slow period of the year is getting to be over with and we are getting into the busy times. Pretty much every moving company in the United States will tell you the same thing-there are two seasons when it comes to moving-Winter and Summer. Winter is basically December, January and February-this is considered the slow season. And then the other nine months are considered Summer or the busy season. You better save and make appropriate plans if you want to make it through the winter months. Last Winter was pretty brutal because of interest rates and everything else but thank goodness we had the foresight to make sure we had plans to get through these slope times. Every moving business owner thinks the exact same thing as me “if only all 12 months were as busy as your busiest months we would all be like billionaires” but I digress (I don't know what that word means but it sounds appropriate for this sentence.)
So today we have a big training class coming in about 45 minutes. It's supposed to be like seven people but we will see how many show up! I think they will be here. I'm excited, doing orientation is one of my favorite parts of the job. Just a reminder to everyone we do background checks, drug testing and pretty extensive training with every guy we hire. And we only hire probably one out of every ten applicants we talk to. No that our company is anything special to work for but it takes a certain type of personality to do this job. Not in a good or bad way but with the way the schedule is in the moving business, its kind of hard to find people that are flexible enough to work the appropriate hours. For instance, it worked out great for me, I put myself through college working for another company.
The Artwork-Its Papa Smurf! I was so excited to draw this guy. The Smurfs were like original Saturday Morning cartoon. I remember being the only person in my household up at 7AM watching the Smurfs-this was when there were only 12 like channels on tv! And Papa looks great here. His hat is flopping over, his hands look good and I love the way his beard turned out.
Day 56 and not a word from my family as to why I abruptly stopped drawing after doing it everyday for a year.
The next person to message me and say “I want $53”, I will send a $53 gift card.
