The One Hundredth One!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4/12/24
If you read these please start from the first day or not whatever-it's your life!
Man, you figure if you've been doing something for over twenty years and all your managers and employees are experienced that everything would go as smooth as can be. But it never works out that way. Today was supposed to be a pretty easy laid back day. Not an extremely busy day but still enough jobs going on to keep the lights on. But it seems like those days are the ones that trick you. Within ten minutes of me walking in here today I think I had five different problems that needed solving. It's always either an employee, a client or a truck. Today it was all three! AND AS I WAS TYPING THAT LAST SENTENCE ANOTHER PHONE CALL CAME IN WITH ANOTHER PROBLEM!!!!! But it's all good. There's a million other things way worse than dealing with any of this stuff. We fix what we can and do our very best with the rest. I remember in third grade my math teachers husband got deployed to Desert Storm and one time she read us a letter that he wrote. One line she reads to us has stuck with me for the last thirty five or so years. He said “of course there's problems. But all big problems are just a lot of little small problems balled into one and all small problems are easy to fix”. So there you go. With that attitude anything can be fixed, any obstacle can be overcome and any adversity can be conquered. I'm lucky that I work with people who all have the same goal of building this company into something worthwhile and everyone here actually cares about giving great customer service.
I'm not going to go into detail or put anyone on blast but the most frustrating thing is two of the problems I just had to and am still dealing with could have been prevented by people doing their job. And I'm not talking about complicated stuff. Things like take a box out of a truck and carry it 50 feet. That was someone's job. They told me they did that. They did not do that. It has caused a domino effect of other problems. I don't know if these people lied to me or just forgot to do it or what. I'm pretty sure they thought they did it, told me they did it but didn't actually do it.
Anyways, I'm just ranting. Things could be 1000 times worse and I'm happy to have all of these problems. Please dont think Im complaining about having to run a business. I'm so glad I get to do this day in and day out. But the absolute best thing about all of this is I know we will get all of this fixed one way or the other and at that point we will sit back, admire our handiwork and be thrilled we get to fix problems. It's actually one of the better parts of the job, That satisfaction of actually getting something done. Rant over.
The Artwork-This was a hard one to do. It is a demogorgon from Stranger Things. This wasn't my favorite picture but I still enjoyed making it. There's just not a lot of colors and it isn't really a well known character. If you are reading this for the first time please look at some of the previous drawings, this one just happened to fall on the 100th day but its not really representative of my overall )elementary level) work.
