The Sixty Seventh One 3/10/24

If you read these please start from the first day.

I know I talked about the race the other day but now that it's over I want to speak again to the absolutely amazing job the City Of St. Pete does with this race. This Indycar race takes place less than ½ mile from our office as the crow flies and maybe one mile if you drive the streets. There's well over 100,000 people in attendance for the entire weekend. That means 100,000 from all over the world descended upon this city less than 1 mile from this office. You would think there would be all kinds of traffic or crime or some types of inconveniences-but none of that has ever happened. The city has somehow set this thing up perfectly. It's downtown and there's a highway that leads straight to the track and parking garages. The highway could have been a little congested but the city streets were fine. So the fans drive in off the highway, park, then drive straight back off the highway after the race, it's a great system. With the exception of one employee who happens to live on a boat in the middle of all the action and asked for a day off because he didn't feel like dealing with the traffic, it didn't affect us one bit. We could hear all the cars AND THEY ARE LOUD!! Not too loud but enjoyably loud.

It just really blows my  mind that a city of about 275,000 people could add another 100,000 over three days and not feel any negative consequences for us citizens. You would think there would be drunks stumbling around or trash all over the street but it's just not a problem, let's hope it stays that way next year.  Hopefully all the restaurants, hotels and vendors made some money this year. It doesn't really move the bottom line of Swift Moves because what person will need a mover if they're only in town for 3 days?

GREAT JOB CITY OF ST. PETE!

The Artwork-I liked this one. He's someone from Star Wars. I'm not sure his name but it came out great. Little things like the shadow in his right hand sleeve that hangs down makes a big difference. His (or Her) yellow eyes hidden behind the cloak make it mysterious plus the gun and across the chest strap vest thing look cool. Star Wars is my wife's favorite movie, so I enjoyed this one.

Day 68 and not one person from my family has asked why I have not drawn one drawing after drawing one everyday for a year straight.

The next person to message me and say “I want $60”, I will send a $60 gift card.

(This is only good for the first person who messages me. If someone messages me and I don't respond please call the number om the website and demand your money. )
