This is the third story of a cool time me and my father in law went to a baseball game. I've told you about the one time we saw the Red Sox play the Blue Jays in what was essentially a high school stadium and then the time when me and him got to see David Ortiz hit batting practice with an aluminum bat while STANDING ON THE ACTUAL PLAYING FIELD.
This next story had to be sometime between 2006-2009 because it was after I met my wife but before we had children. So my Father In Law told us he got some good tickets to the Ray Vs. Yankees game at Tropicana Field. They were like two rows up from the third base line in the shallow outfield. Me and my wife get there like in the bottom of the second inning and cannot see him where he said he was. We look astound and he finally turns around and waves us over to where he was. We could not believe it. They had upgraded his seats to this special one row of fold out chairs that border a wall with the Yankees bullpen where all the pitchers practice for yall who don't know). So we sat down and couldn't believe it. The set up was like this-we sat in our seats, there's about an 18” wide 3’ high wall then all the yankees sitting there talking having a good time. Soon enough we were actually talking to five time World Series champ Mariana Rivera and others but he's the only one I remember. The only better seats you could ever possibly get for a baseball game would be in the actual dugout. To some people this wouldn't be a great big deal but to three baseball fans we were pretty excited.
The way he got these great seats was just random. He was sitting in the original seat then some lady who worked for the Rays asked if he wanted upgraded seats and he was like “Sure” and so us and like eight other people got this great experience I'm still talking about 17 years later.
Here's the very best part of it to me. The Yankees were winning and so they were talkative and jovial and having a good time. Then somehow the bases got loaded and someone hit a grand slam to take the lead for the Rays! The Yankees bench got quiet as a mouse and would no longer talk to us. I guess they had to concentrate on the game. But it was awesome seeing our home town come back from four runs down to take the lead and eventually win the game.
The Artwork-This one is very different. I guess it's a cartoon Gameboy. It was there so I drew it. But he's got a cool smile, arms and legs, plus all the buttons. I like the colors on him-I hope you enjoy it!
Day 27 of the elliptical-Day nine of 60 minutes straight on the elliptical. I challenged myself to not look at the timer on the elliptical one time. I usually look at it every thirty seconds to a minute wishing it would hurry up but not yesterday. I looked at the clock on the cable box and didn't look until I was like 58 minutes in with only two minutes left. I did the entire 60 minutes in the second easiest setting. I think I'm going to do that for a few days then gradually move up until the last day or week I'm doing all sixty minutes on the hardest setting.
