I hope you enjoy these. For anyone who doesn't know, this is a year long project for myself where I write a blog entry a day. The artwork is something I did last year. Before 1/3/23 I had never drawn one thing in my entire life and then one day I decided to teach myself to draw and drew like 350 pictures last year. It's not just for me but also for Swift Moves in hopes of getting our rankings up on search engines. Does it work? Who knows. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send you a free framed copy.
Whenever you hire a moving company remember that it's your stuff and you are the boss but being nice and communicating with the crew will make your move go a lot smoother. It's a fine dance between the client getting their stuff moved and the mover who does this everyday for a living. You have to let the mover do his/her thing and move the stuff in an efficient manner but they could always use any advice for pieces that are odd or out or the ordinary. “That's a 400 year old dresser that came over on the Mayflower” would be good advice so they know to be extra careful with your piece.” “That couch is heavy” may not be the best advice, the guys probably know this just by looking at it that it's heavy.
“See you at the drop off” is not bad but not the best bit of communication. “See you at the drop off, we will meet there at 115pm, the address is 113 Main street N. in Tampa,FL” is a little better advice. Point being is at all points during the move from the time you first call until we take the last piece of furniture off the truck, it's always a good idea to convey any thoughts, feelings, ideas or pertinent information to the crew or office personnel. His will make the job go smoother and your life easier. But you don't want to “hover” over the guys and make them uncomfortable. Show them what to move, let them know any special instructions and get out of the way because the crew is going to move faster than you thought. For the most part they and probably you want to get this done as soon as possible so they can go home and you can start living in your new place-great communication makes this process a lot easier for all parties involved. Only 25 days left of this Pulitzer worthy writing left.
The Artwork-I have no clue who this or where she came from, she's like some disco duck but an innocent one. Maybe she likes to go to the club but just to dance and not party too much. Her eyes, the way her hands (wings?) and beak gives this look like she wants to be your friend. I did enjoy drawing the shadows on the bottom part of her body and face on this one. And of course the big, huge blue hat looks amazing. I hope you enjoy it!
Contest-This is an ongoing contest. It's a weird thing. On 6/27/24 we started with $10 then everyday I'm adding $1. The first person to call in or comment or message gets the money. Here's the kicker. You can either call in right now and get $10 (or whatever it happens to be this day) or wait till the next day when the money goes up. I think I have like 175 days left so the pot can get up to almost $200. It's free money, it's not a scam, it's in the marketing budget. No employees or employee families are eligible. I hope you win! The total on 12/8/24 is $176.
