I hope you enjoy these. For anyone who doesn't know, this is a year long project for myself where I write a blog entry a day. The artwork is something I did last year. Before 1/3/23 I had never drawn one thing in my entire life and then one day I decided to teach myself to draw and drew like 350 pictures last year. It's not just for me but also for Swift Moves in hopes of getting our rankings up on search engines. Does it work? Who knows. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send you a free framed copy.
When I was young growing up in Temple, TX I did a lot of walking around (if I didn't have a bike). Temple is not a big city but it's not small either, like 82,000 (way more than there used to be, this is actually news to me, it used to be like 55,000). So its not really dangerous but there's still a chance to be kidnapped. Here's my point. All those times walking around I would wonder why no one stopped and gave me a ride. I didn't hitchhike or anything but I always thought to myself “when I get older and I see a kid walking I would give them a ride”. But now I see why. As an adult I've seen many kids walking and they looked tired but I can imagine myself pulling up beside a child saying “hey, you want to hop in and I'll give you a ride?” would not go too well. The police would probably be called and I would have to register somewhere. So lesson of the day is don't ask little kids if they need rides even if it fulfills a childhood promise you made to yourself and for kids its probably not too safe to take rides from strangers.
The Artwork- I'm glad I finally go to write about this one. It's one of my favorite ones of the year. It's Charlie Brown! But he has on a different outfit and is standing by his almost pathetic yet lovely Christmas Tree. Good Grief. I lovd his expression, it's like he doesn't have the best tree but seems happy and content. Drawing that tree was the best. I really like the two boards nailed together to hold it up, it gives it a small 3-D feel. His cap with the little curls of hair underneath was cool and the way his hands are stuck in his pockets was something different for me and I enjoyed drawing them. I hope you enjoy it!
Contest-This is an ongoing contest. It's a weird thing. On 6/27/24 we started with $10 then everyday I'm adding $1. The first person to call in or comment or message gets the money. Here's the kicker. You can either call in right now and get $10 (or whatever it happens to be this day) or wait till the next day when the money goes up. I think I have like 175 days left so the pot can get up to almost $200. It's free money, it's not a scam, it's in the marketing budget. No employees or employee families are eligible. I hope you win! The total on 12/1/24 is $18.
