I hope you enjoy these. For anyone who doesnt know, this is a year long project for myself where I write a blog entry a day. The artwork is something I did last year. Before 1/3/23 I had never drawn one thing in my entire life and then one day I decided to teach myself to draw and drew like 350 pictures last year. It's not just for me but also for Swift Moves in hopes of getting our rankings up on search engines. Does it work? Who knows. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send it to you in a frame.
My kids play that on-line game Fortnite and even though the game itself is amazing, what gets me is some of the technology that surrounds the game. The main game is like a game where 100 people join and “un-alive” all your opponents until there's only one person left. There's a map and counter of how many players are still alive and lots of other features. Yesterday I was wondering how many people at one time are playing this game so I asked my son and he responded “I don't know, like a million”. I thought he was just guessing so I googled “how many people are playing Fortnine at once?”. I thought the answer would be some closely guarded company secret but no, there's an actual live counter of how many players are playing at that exact minute. This is what blows my mind. I could not imagine playing Super Mario Brothers in 1987 and being able to see exactly how many people in the world were playing at one time. But now you can just go to a website (also not imaginable in 1987) and see that there are 1,950,370 at this very minute. I'm not sure if this site is controlled by the people who run the game or if it's some outside company, I would think it has to be someone with a connection to Fortnite because why would they just give out their proprietary information like that. But Once again like an aging old man, technology has blown my mind.
The Artwork-This is from a cartoon my wife and son watch called The Amazing World of Gumball, I've never watched it. I think this was one of those that I had a limited amount of time to do because it's not that complicated. The eyes are the biggest part of this picture. He or she is a weird shaped creature. Long legs, normal size feet and a body that is also a head but no fingers. I'm thinking this is a girl because of the eyelashes. She's got a nice smile and the colors match up pretty well from the original. I hope you enjoy it!
Contest-This is an ongoing contest. It's a weird thing. On 6/27/24 we started with $10 then everyday I'm adding $1. The first person to call in or comment or message gets the money. Here's the kicker. You can either call in right now and get $10 (or whatever it happens to be this day) or wait till the next day when the money goes up. I think I have like 175 days left so the pot can get up to almost $200. It's free money, it's not a scam, it's in the marketing budget. No employees or employee families are eligible. I hope you win!
The total on 8/17/24 is $59.
