I hope you enjoy these. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send it to you in a frame.
Ive always enjoyed going to baseball games and I'm very lucky that I live five minutes from MLB park. Last Sunday I went to a Rays game. As I was approaching my seat I noticed a foul ball hit me waaay up in the third level where there was currently no one sitting. It was ripped off from what I could see. So I waited a few minutes to see if anyone ran up there to retrieve this flour ball and no one did. A little back story. I've caught lots of batting practice balls but have never got a foul or home run ball from a live game. It's like my goal/dream to get a “live” ball from an MLB game. This includes fouls and homeruns. I've been close more times than you can imagine. So I'm thinking this is finally my chance. So I ran all the way around the stadium to where there is an escalator that goes like 200’ up to the third level, but it was closed. The man tells me I have to go to the other side of the stadium and walk up the roundabout 6 floors to get there. So I'm running trying to beat anyone else who might have had this idea. I finally get there after about five minutes and there's a guy at a table blocking those sections and he's sitting next to a police officer. I'm out of breath trying to explain what I'm doing and the police officer says “ no foul balls, you're the third one in the last two minutes to try!” Once again thwarted. But that's not the point. The point is even though I'm a middle aged guy I can still have fun running around a baseball stadium trying to get foul balls. It was a blast. If you can find joy in little things it makes life worth living.
The Artwork-Its Benny The Bull! I believe he's the mascot for the Chicago Bulls. IOf you've been paying attention you know I loved making this one because of all of the colors. Lots of red, pink and black. There's even a little ivory in there for his horns. I think he came out fairly well.I hope you enjoy it!
