I hope you enjoy these. For anyone who doesnt know, this is a year long project for myself where I write a blog entry a day. The artwork is something I did last year. Before 1/3/23 I had never drawn one thing in my entire life and then one day I decided to teach myself to draw and drew like 350 pictures last year. It's not just for me but also for Swift Moves in hopes of getting our rankings up on search engines. Does it work? Who knows. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send it to you in a frame.
Growing up unless you were Zach Morris you didn't have a cell phone. Each location had a phone, not each person. I remember calling restaurants and asking “is there like a couple there in their 30’s, one had a hat on and a blue shirt” or something like that and whoever answered the phone didn't have a problem checking and telling them they had a phone call. Looking back it's weird but that's how it was. But what I was thinking about yesterday is everyone had a seven digit phone number. We had area codes but 99% of the calls we made were “local” so there was no need to even dial an area code. 773-7359 was my phone number growing up, I still remember it thirty years later. And if you moved you had to get a new phone number. Nowadays though everyone has a ten digit phone number and most likely will have the same phone number until we meet our maker. Before cell phones you had to keep a book of phone numbers or lists of phone numbers or had to memorize a lot of numbers because the power of the world was not in your hands like nowadays. And also now everyone has a TEN digit phone number because we have the same phone no matter where we where we move to. I'm in Florida so there's people from literally all over the world with thousands of different area codes. (I'm not sure about how it works coming from other countries because I think you have to get a new country code so I'm just talking about the United States.) But we don't have to memorize anything anymore because once you tell it to someone else they just put it in their phone and that's it, if they need to call you, they just have to remember your name. So to recap-we used to only have seven digit numbers but had to memorize them but now we have ten digit numbers and don't have to memorize them.
That's my big story for today, really scraping the barrel for these last 150 entries.
The Artwork-Yesterday we had “The King” today we have a queen. Well kind of. I'm hoping the evil queen who spoke to the mirror on the wall was defeated after everything is said and done and this lady becomes The Queen because it's Snow White!!! On a side note I think it's pretty impressive that the movie was made by Disney in 1937 and still holds up today. But enough about them let's talk about me, me, me and the drawing I did (probably much better than ole walt did!)
Her eyes came out a little better than my previous attempts with other drawings I did like this and I really like her black hair but what makes it recognizable is the red bow (or whatever it's called) in her hair. In the original fairy tale she was based on it said her skin was “white as snow and lips as red as blood’ and I think this holds up here. Then to top it all off there's the cool looking dress with its nice pastel colors. I do like this one because it's more of a human form compared to what I usually drew and i think it came out better than the other ones. I hope you enjoy it!
Contest-This is an ongoing contest. It's a weird thing. On 6/27/24 we started with $10 then everyday I'm adding $1. The first person to call in or comment or message gets the money. Here's the kicker. You can either call in right now and get $10 (or whatever it happens to be this day) or wait till the next day when the money goes up. I think I have like 175 days left so the pot can get up to almost $200. It's free money, it's not a scam, it's in the marketing budget. No employees or employee families are eligible. I hope you win!
The total on 7/31/24 is $44.
