Why is it a Dry County?

The 210th One 8/1/24

I hope you enjoy these. For anyone who doesnt know, this is a year long project for myself where I write a blog entry a day. The artwork is something I did last year. Before 1/3/23 I had never drawn one thing in my entire life and then one day I decided to teach myself to draw and drew like 350 pictures last year. It's not just for me but also for Swift Moves in hopes of getting our rankings up on search engines. Does it work? Who knows. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send it to you in a frame.

Have you ever been to a dry county? It's where you can't buy alcohol in the county. I grew up in Bell County Texas and it was really weird how they did this. Because I actually lived in the city of Temple, Texas that lied within the county of Bell. Now you could buy beer in the city limits of Temple but you could not buy liquor. If you wanted to buy liquor you had to drive out to this little town about 20 minutes away on Lake Belton called Morgans Point. And even then I'm pretty sure you could not buy liquor on Sunday. In the city limits of Temple you could buy beer but I'm not sure about wine. There's another big city within the Bell County limits called Killeen where you can buy liquor. So it's not really a dry county but a dry city. Here's my theory of why. This entire area of temple and Morgans Point and Belton are part of a “good ole boy” network where judges and lawyers and businessmen have been running things behind the scenes for years.  Nothing necessarily illegal but they get on city councils and make decisions for the community as a whole. I think they have made it illegal in the city limits of Temple and Belton to purchase liquor so people would have to go to this little resort town of Morgan's Point with only two or three stores that actually sell liquor. Then guess who owns the liquor stores? You got it correct-the businessmen who are running things behind the scenes! That's just a theory but who knows.

The Artwork-This is either Phineas or Ferb, I'm not sure which one. Dont worry Im pretty sure the other one will be here in the next week or two. But this guy is cool regardless. I like all the bright colors from the really green hair to the deep purple. His eyes look weird not because of me but because that's how they are supposed to look. I also like his socks and shoes. I hope you enjoy it!

Contest-This is an ongoing contest. It's a weird thing. On 6/27/24 we started with $10 then everyday I'm adding $1. The first person to call in or comment or message gets the money. Here's the kicker. You can either call in right now and get $10 (or whatever it happens to be this day) or wait till the next day when the money goes up. I think I have like 175 days left so the pot can get up to almost $200. It's free money, it's not a scam, it's in the marketing budget. No employees or employee families are eligible. I hope you win!

The total on 8/2/24 is $45.
