If you read these please start from the first day.
Another hectic morning-I Love It! Clients calling and changing stuff, employees calling because of some problem and the mechanic calling and asking ME questions (like I don't know-you're the mechanic!).
When I started this business I always knew there would be countless problems that arise that I wasn't expecting. The one that has definitely surprised me the most is the human element. We have a pretty high bar to the people we hire. It sometimes takes us weeks to hire one person because we have high expectations of who we hire. We do this because we don't want just anyone walking into a clients house, we do background checks and drug tests and lots of training. Plus we expect them to do an excellent job when they get to the actual move. Before COVID it was one way and then after COVID it definitely changed a lot. Post COVID many people realized they did not need to work for someone else and could be self employed. Great for them but it definitely shrinks the people available to work for places like Swift Moves (and from what I see on the news and internet it's not just us but a lot of companies). So we have this high bar of who we want to hire and then we have a lot less people who actually want a job. Not the end of the world, like a talked about in a previous post, if you have a problem that can be mixed by money then it's not the end of the world and money could fix this problem of not having enough people to hire.
I hope this made sense. I was just ranting and rambling today.
The Artwork-I don't quite know how to feel about this one. It's Woody from Toy Story. I think it looks good, I really like all the colors but the face proportions seem off. I like his handkerchief, his badge (even though it's not perfect), his bandana looks good and I really like the rosy highlights on his cheeks. Hope yall like it. If you do, just send me a message and I will send it to you in a frame for free.
Day 50 and not a word from my family as to why I abruptly stopped drawing after doing it everyday for a year.
