If you read these please start from the first day.
You wake up everyday-sometimes you're the lion and sometimes you're the antelope. Whichever one you are-you better hit the ground running or you're not going to eat or you're going to be someone's lunch. This is like an old African proverb that I've always loved and try to stick to. For the most part everyone has their own safe space, normally it's their own house. But whenever you leave that place it's the proverbial rat race. You better be ready everyday or it's not going to end well. No ones going to give you anything. The lion doesn't have a waiter that serves him that antelope, no he works his butt off to catch it. You have to do the same thing. No one is going to hand you anything, you have to plan for it, practice it and eventually execute it or you're not going to eat.
The other half of that proverb has just as much wisdom. I talked to a lot of people everyday and for the most part everyone is extremely nice but they all want one thing-they want me to be their lunch. They want something, usually money from me. Not that I'm some rich guy who everyone asks for money but from employees, to clients, to vendors to everyone I come in contact with it's pretty much the same, they want the most amount of money while giving me the least amount of whatever. Please don't misconstrue that statement-I'm extremely lucky to have employees, clients and vendors and I hope they are just as happy to have me.
And by no means do I mean this is just me. This applies to the entire world as we know it, it's how it's been for a long, long time. And just as the antelope sometimes slips and falls, you will too but you better get up and keep running or the lions are going to feast! So in the immortal words of Mr. Jim Valvano- “don't give up, don't ever give up!”
The Artwork-This was one I thought would be easy because it is South Park and the animation looks like a breeze. As usual I was wrong. Kyle wasn't too complicated but his left eye will drive me crazy for the rest of my life. But I think the colors came out nice and the proportions are pretty accurate, the outlining leaves a little to be desired. Oh well.
Day 36 and not a word from my family as to why I've abruptly stopped drawing after doing it everyday for a year.
