I hope you enjoy these. For anyone who doesn't know, this is a year long project for myself where I write a blog entry a day. The artwork is something I did last year. Before 1/3/23 I had never drawn one thing in my entire life and then one day I decided to teach myself to draw and drew like 350 pictures last year. It's not just for me but also for Swift Moves in hopes of getting our rankings up on search engines. Does it work? Who knows. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send it to you in a frame.
Man o’ man the rain has been crazy the last few days. Yesterday about 6:15 it seemed like rain started to come from nowhere and then all of the sudden it was like a hurricane. We had a tropical storm within the last two months and even though yesterday's rain lasted about an hour, it seemed like it was worse than the tropical storm. It kind of cleared up until about midnight and then it started back with a vengeance. Thunder and lightning like I've rarely heard and though the rain wasn't too bad you could hear the wind whipping outside like an out of control lasso. For the most part as a species we know what causes rain like this but I always wonder what it must have been like for cavemen or even people like 5,000 years ago. They had no radar or weather man or forecast or anyone to tell them why water is all of the sudden falling from the sky and why there are huge flashes of light and extremely loud noises coming from all directions. Could you imagine not knowing what lightning is and then seeing it? I would be freaked out. Not to get religious but I can see how they could worship so many Gods; someone giant in the sky throwing stuff down would make as much sense as anything else. What other explanation did they have at the time? Not just rain but earthquakes, hurricanes, wildfires, tornadoes, rainbows, the aurora borealis, blizzards, snow, full moons, eclipses and 100’s of other natural phenomena would make me wonder what the heck was going on if I was a person living 1000’s of years ago.
Artwork-This guy is pretty cool looking, it's some almost dystopian ginger bread and who is ready to go to war for, I don't know, better cooking ingredients. His eyebrows, lack of pupils and mean frown make him look like one evil dude. Lots of accessories on this guy which I always loved to draw. There's a headband (or maybe a hat?), a bow tie, a nice belt, an across the shoulder belt and a few buttons. This one ws fun to draw. I hope you enjoy it!
Contest-This is an ongoing contest. It's a weird thing. On 6/27/24 we started with $10 then everyday I'm adding $1. The first person to call in or comment or message gets the money. Here's the kicker. You can either call in right now and get $10 (or whatever it happens to be this day) or wait till the next day when the money goes up. I think I have like 175 days left so the pot can get up to almost $200. It's free money, it's not a scam, it's in the marketing budget. No employees or employee families are eligible. I hope you win!
The total on 8/26/24 is $68.
PS-In about 20 days I will have about 100 days left and I'm going to set up a physical challenge for myself to finish out the year. So I have three more weeks of eating not so healthy then I'm going to try something I've never tried before but may not be able to complete because I don't know if my old body can physically handle it.
