I hope you enjoy these. For anyone who doesnt know, this is a year long project for myself where I write a blog entry a day. The artwork is something I did last year. Before 1/3/23 I had never drawn one thing in my entire life and then one day I decided to teach myself to draw and drew like 350 pictures last year. It's not just for me but also for Swift Moves in hopes of getting our rankings up on search engines. Does it work? Who knows. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send it to you in a frame.
At this point with this blog I feel like an old man just complaining about stuff half the time. I challenge you to write 350 straight days without talking about religion or politics- it's not that easy! My topic today is why and how is there still a magazine aisle at the grocery store! I know this is controversial but I'm going to stick to my guns on this hot topic. Seriously, are Americans buying enough magazines that Puiblix still needs an entire aisle dedicated to it? I'm really asking because I don't understand how it makes any type of financial sense. Ill gloss over one every once in a while and maybe buy one once a year. But I think I'm the exception. I'm a little older, I enjoy reading the printed page. I never see anyone buying one, about once a month I'll see someone pick up a magazine and loom at it, but that's about it. Those aisles at the grocery store can't be cheap. Right next to this aisle is the card aisle, I see people buying these all the time! Then about once a month I'll see the magazine person with a big shopping cart clearing in the aisle, packing all the unsold issues up and doing who knows what with them. I would hope they recycle them because that has to get expensive to throw 95% of your product away every month. So to recap-I'm old, it's not easy to write these everyday and why or how do they still have magazine aisles at grocery stores.
The Artwork-I've been told by reliable sources this is still an age and business appropriate drawing, I guess it from a video game. He looks like he belongs in the Castro district of San Francisco in 1976. With lots of red with some type of mask and spikes on his wrist this guy is bright. His giant bright yellow eyes are a little creepy but most of all I love his earring. I hope you enjoy it!
Contest-This is an ongoing contest. It's a weird thing. On 6/27/24 we started with $10 then everyday I'm adding $1. The first person to call in or comment or message gets the money. Here's the kicker. You can either call in right now and get $10 (or whatever it happens to be this day) or wait till the next day when the money goes up. I think I have like 175 days left so the pot can get up to almost $200. It's free money, it's not a scam, it's in the marketing budget. No employees or employee families are eligible. I hope you win!
The total on 8/22/24 is $64.
