I hope you enjoy these. For anyone who doesn't know, this is a year long project for myself where I write a blog entry a day. The artwork is something I did last year. Before 1/3/23 I had never drawn one thing in my entire life and then one day I decided to teach myself to draw and drew like 350 pictures last year. It's not just for me but also for Swift Moves in hopes of getting our rankings up on search engines. Does it work? Who knows. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send it to you in a frame.
I wrote a little on this next subject a few weeks ago but this is a little variation. My wife told me yesterday there was supposed to be a high school reunion last night but only like three people RSVP’d. I think the high school reunion is almost done for and Ill tell you why. It's because of Facebook. I remember being ten years old when my Dad went to his 20th high school reunion. For the most part no one had seen each other for twenty years or so and that night they all got together and saw what everyone was up to. But nowadays there's no use doing that. Like I wrote about in my previous post since facebook and other social media sites there's never been that disconnect. You never really lose touch with people after they graduate so there's no real reason to see what everyone has been up to. It used to be that you would walk into the reunion and see someone from 20 years ago and be like “oh my gosh what have you been up to?” and they would be like “it's so good to see you, I invented Post-It Notes” or something like that. But not anymore. Because of social media we know what almost everyone has been up to everyday of their life since they left high school, so what's the point of a reunion? I am officially declaring high school reunions dead.
The Artwork-This is definitely one of those I'm extremely proud of. It's either Chip or Dale, I'm not sure which one. On a side note, I believe I read somewhere Chip and Dale were modeled after Magnum PI and Indiana Jones. I don't know if that's true but it looks right to me. As far as the artwork goes I don't think I can do a lot better than this guy. To start off all the colors are on point. Then you have his little ears sticking out of that great looking hat. His eyes are perfect and show how nice this guy actually is. Then his nose and mouth look great, add in his amazing jacket and we have perfection (for me at least!). I love the way the underside of his hat has a different shade of brown than the top side, it just looks right to me. I hope you enjoy it!
Contest-This is an ongoing contest. It's a weird thing. On 6/27/24 we started with $10 then everyday I'm adding $1. The first person to call in or comment or message gets the money. Here's the kicker. You can either call in right now and get $10 (or whatever it happens to be this day) or wait till the next day when the money goes up. I think I have like 175 days left so the pot can get up to almost $200. It's free money, it's not a scam, it's in the marketing budget. No employees or employee families are eligible. I hope you win!
The total on 8/2/24 is $45.
