If you read these please start from the first day.
Man oh man its race day!!! There is an Indy Car race tht happens literally ½ mile from our shop. They do it every year. The streets are shut down and cards zip through there at 200mph. I went to the first one like 20 years ago and have watched it many times. I've seen it from my uncles 16 story condo overlooking the track, from the roof of the yacht club, from the roof of the Hilton, from every stand you can think of and I was even on turn ten when Dan Whelson (RIP) famously overtook the second place car with like two laps left to win the race. I even got all access passes one year and met David Letterman and the Governor Charlie Christ. One time I was on a wall standing beside a guy watching some practice and we said a few words, two minutes later after he walked away I found out it was Mario Andreti!!!
The city of St. Pete does a magnificent job with this. There's a lot of logistics but it does not really affect the citizens of this great city unless you happen to live directly on the track. The way it is set up is perfect. It goes on a few downtown streets then along some water and onto the downtown airport. It used to be a different circuit called CART that went more into the city but I guess they changed it so it does not affect more people's daily lives.
And you should see the yachts! Massive, massive Roger Penske, guys from Microsoft, The Andrettis, lots of Russians have these massive ships that pull in and can watch the race from the water. I'm talking about $300,000,000 boats.
This race is a big money maker for the city and I'm really proud that it's so close to my work and Alma Mater USF St. Pete (it actually goes on that campus). But there's never any politics or problems and the city just does the best job of hosting dignitaries from all over the world.
Day 66 and not a word from my family as to why I abruptly stopped drawing after doing it everyday for a year.
Tha Artwork-This one is a little confusing to me. It's the Stay Puft Marshmallow guy from Ghostbuusters but I'm not sure if this guy is supposed to be like a baby version. Maybe it's from the newer version with Paul Rudd and not the giant one from the original movie. I like the mean emotion his face conveys and the colors but I think the proportions are a little off. Oh well, I enjoyed drawing him.
The next person to message me and say “I want $60”, I will send a $60 gift card.
