These Kids and Their Music

The 241st One 9/6/24

I hope you enjoy these. For anyone who doesnt know, this is a year long project for myself where I write a blog entry a day. The artwork is something I did last year. Before 1/3/23 I had never drawn one thing in my entire life and then one day I decided to teach myself to draw and drew like 350 pictures last year. It's not just for me but also for Swift Moves in hopes of getting our rankings up on search engines. Does it work? Who knows. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send you a framed copy.

Music today has changed a lot since I was younger. There used to be very well defined genres, There was country, rap, rock or pop. Now it seems like every artist is everything. For the most part there is no label of music. Let's use the popular new artist Jelly Roll as an example. While he may be classified as country I think, every song he does has rap and country and rock and pop in it. The same thing with lots of other top 40 artists. While I'm sure there are a thousand other examples for me it really started out with Run DMC and Aerosmith but then it took a break for a while. Then Nelly did a country with Tim McGraw that started to bring back crossovers. But that was 20 years ago. The real squishing of music together really started about 5 years ago with Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cirus. After this gigantic hit all bets were off. Anything could be anything. With a generation of kids who were  of music buying age that grew up with lots of barriers knocked down, music could be anything.  I realize I may sound like a grumpy old man yelling to stay off my lawn but that's how it is. All I'm really saying is music today has kind of squished into one genre and anyone can be anything. No labels. I think its a good thing.

The Artwork-Yesterday I had no idea what I drew. I think this one is pretty recognizable-Its Elmo! Not tickle me Elmo because it's a drawing so just regular Elmo. I was pretty happy with how he came out. The proportions look great, the eyes are a little off but what I like most is the color. The color matches up perfectly to the original. His smile is great and his feet are a little big but oh well. I liked drawing him. I hope you enjoy it!

Contest-This is an ongoing contest. It's a weird thing. On 6/27/24 we started with $10 then everyday I'm adding $1. The first person to call in or comment or message gets the money. Here's the kicker. You can either call in right now and get $10 (or whatever it happens to be this day) or wait till the next day when the money goes up. I think I have like 175 days left so the pot can get up to almost $200. It's free money, it's not a scam, it's in the marketing budget. No employees or employee families are eligible. I hope you win!

The total on 9/6/24 is $77.

In about 10 days I will be starting a new workout routine to finish this year off. I'm really going to challenge myself and I am not sure if I will be able to physically do it. I'm calling it the 100 in 100 challenge. Details to come later. I'm getting more excited as the days get closer. I'm eating as much junk food as possible because when I start this routine I'm going to have to start eating better.
